Personally, I don’t think age has much to do with dating because compatibility, understanding, love, etc., are the determining factors here, not necessarily age. So, if you are still wondering why some young men are attracted to older women, then read this article to the end.

Young men developing feelings for women older than them is not a new thing, neither is it an offense. They have their reasons, which I will explain in a few seconds here.
1. Peace of Mind
I have a few friends who are married to women that are at least 5 years older than them. One common comment I usually hear from them whenever I interview them is, “They have peace in their homes.”
What most women don’t understand is that men are always craving total peace and not chaos, so they usually go where they would get it. I know it has not been scientifically proven that older women give peace more than their younger counterparts. Personally, I think that peace of mind has a lot to do with the personality of the woman involved, not the age aspect of it. My opinion though.
2. Experience
It is widely believed that older women have far more experience compared to younger ones; therefore, they are far better than young girls who haven’t experienced much in life.
I totally agree with this because experience matters. If you date such a woman, there is every chance that she is likely to correct you on certain things you might be doing wrong and also give you some advice based on her experience.
3. Not Too Demanding
According to some men, older women are not very demanding like younger women.
The fact is that being too demanding or materialistic is a red flag to some men. With the belief that older women don’t demand much from their men, some men think it is wise to date them rather than go for younger ones who would be demanding much and draining them financially.
4. Very Understanding
One of the key factors in a good relationship is understanding. Once partners can understand each other, the chances of the relationship going wrong will be very low. That’s why some men opt to go for older women whom they believe are understanding.
The popular saying “Older women are mature and understanding” is one of the things that skyrocketed the belief and hope that they are far more understanding than their younger counterparts, probably because they’re more experienced in life.
5. Support
Another reason why some guys go for older women is because they are said to be more supportive of their men than younger women.
To some guys, if their women could support them financially, emotionally, etc., then they won’t mind if they are older than them or if she is older than they are.
6. Trust
Some believe that older women don’t usually cheat or play games in their relationships, probably because they have seen it all and those lifestyles don’t excite them anymore.
This could be true or just an assumption, but personally, I think that cheating has to do with the personality of the individual involved, not necessarily the age. Although I am not countering the belief.
7. More Appealing to Intimacy
Naturally, many men find women who are older than them more appealing than younger women.
Yes, this is just natural for some men. They find older women more attractive, and they usually go for them.
8. Less Drama
Many relationships are full of drama and chaos, especially when younger people are involved.
Many people believe that mature individuals are often very peaceful and less dramatic in their relationships. So, some men tend to get themselves mature ladies who would not disturb them rather than being with young girls who would frustrate them.
What’s the Success Rate of Older Women/Younger Men Relationships?
Talking about being in a serious romantic relationship with a woman who is older than you, what is the success rate?
According to surveys, the success rate of older women/younger men romantic relationships is 60/40.
This is above average, meaning that older women/younger men relationships are more successful compared to the other way around.
Although there are some disadvantages of dating older women, such as disrespect, being unsubmissive, etc., I think the success rate here is high.
What Attracts an Older Woman to a Younger Man?
Just as we have discussed why some men go for older women, let’s talk about what attracts older women to younger men.
Just like men, there are things that attract the opposite gender who are older. Some of them are love, energy, status, wealth, power, intimacy, protection, etc.
Is Age Gap a Red Flag?
This question has no direct answer; it’s all about personal preference.
To some people, an age gap is a red flag when it comes to dating, and to others, it’s not.
Like I explained above in this article, some men go for ladies who are older than them, while some ladies prefer men who are younger than they are. So, an age gap can’t be classified as a red flag to everybody; it’s just a matter of personal preference.
